My Small Works Collection seems to have struck a chord!
My Small Works Collection seems to have struck a chord! These are my best selling pieces, probably because they are priced to sell!
The inspiration for this collection was making my environmental art affordable to folks who want to live with it.
The collection includes new pieces that are miniature versions of artwork inspired by traditional women’s clothing like Kimono from South Korea and Japan and Huipils that are hand woven and worn by indigenous women in Mexico and Guatemala.
I just finished two new mini Kimonos, one primarily white and other mostly black. They both have the long tail feathers that I use in most of my work, but the collars have curved feathers and I love the contast. Personally, I think they would look amazing side by side, but I will leave that to you!
Rainbow Triangle has already been in two shows. have already been in two shows. First, they were on exhibit at a solo show at the Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN. From there, these pieces traveled to New York City where they were exhibited in the Follow the Thread Festival promoted by ArteMorbida magazine, the premier textile magazine of Italy.
Petit Kimono 1 and Mini White Kimono 1 are part of my ongoing White Series. You can read more about that project in the link below.
