This piece preceded Plumage 9. I like to experiment with comparing how the artwork looks when I use or don’t use thread for texture and how it looks facing different directions. The feathers are made from fiber, encaustic, and paint and oilstick. A wrapped stick anchors the piece at the top and evokes African masks.
