Naturales Quaestiones/ Hybridization
Environmental Textile Exhibition in Sansepolcro, Tuscany, Italy
Italian Curator Barbara Pavan explores the creative principle of hybridization through installations by eight international artists. The artworks all address the fusion and convergence of the pressing challenges of our time.
The artists include: Jorgelina Alessandrelli, Gudrun Bartenberger-Geyer, Adeline Contreras, Monica Giovinazzi, Barbara Grossato, Simone Martinotta, Olga Teksheva and Deborah Kruger.

Jorgelina Alessandrelli explores geological and environmental transformations caused by human intervention.
Gudrun Bartenberger-Geyer examines the relationship between life, death, and consumption through suspended organic sculptures made from sheep intestine.
Adeline Contreras’ installation evokes a collective and personal sensory memory, awakening ancestral emotions by using common materials such as fabrics, plants, and soil.
Monica Giovinazzi critiques anthropocentrism and the consequences of rampant consumption, which has reshaped the planet in humanity’s image.
Barbara Grossato work explores the concept of memory and time, where each added level becomes a trace of past actions.
Deborah Kruger uses recycled plastic to mimic textiles and feathers to lament the loss of species due to climate change and habitat fragmentation, especially our vulnerable birds.
Simone Martinotta explores the theme of depersonalization in the digital age. She investigates how virtual identities become increasingly indistinguishable and fragile.
Olga Teksheva installation invites deep contemplation as she explores hybridization between individuals, nature, and history.
