Ropa Clasica 1

Ropa Clasica 1 offers a new abstract interpretation of classical women’s fashion, this time referring to garments worn by women in Ancient Greece. All of Kruger’s work is inspired by how climate change is contributing to extinction, especially of birds. By using her signature tail feathers made from recycled plastic bags, she is able to comment on both the extinct Greciean culture and also the countless species and languages now threatened by habitat fragmentation. This piece is part of an ongoing series that take inspiration from women’s clothing and is part of her new smaller works collection.
