Since shipping work is always on her mind, Deborah Kruger planned this piece to be constructed in three sections that could stack during shipment and be easily reassembled in the gallery creating a piece with no visual seams. Her feathers made from fiber, encaustic, oilstick and paint were glued to a linen backing that hangs with grommets and the wrapped stick. Kruger’s signature haze of waxed linen and wire thread add three-dimensional texture to Rapture 6.
