Deborah Kruger was invited to participate in the Flight Patterns exhibition curated by Dorothy Moye and installed for a year at the Atlanta-Hartsfield International Airport, Atlanta, GA. Since making feathers out of fiber and encaustic is a lengthy process, Deborah Kruger decided to experiment with digital scans on watercolor paper as a way of planning for this installation. The feathers are attached to each other with waxed linen and wire thread that reintroduces fiber back into the piece.
