Colibri 3 is also part of Deborah Kruger’s Remnants series and uses scraps from larger pieces. This is the third in a trio of pieces that are named after the gorgeous and tiny hummingbirds who are so common to Mexico. All of very small works are mounted on wrapped sticks and use feathers made from fiber, encaustic, oilstick and paint. Colibri 3 also incorporates beads, waxed linen thread and tiny slivers of trimmings from other projects. Nothing goes to waste!
