Casanare

Casanare is based on the map of a state in Colombia, where rainforest deforestation poses one of the gravest threats to bird habitat.This colorful piece is made from fused and sewn feathers made from recycled plastic bags. The feathers are screen printed with images of endangered birds from Mexico and Colombia and overprinted with text in endangered indigenous languages.
