Broken
In addition to making wall reliefs, Deborah also creates sculptures and installations. Broken is a large floor installation created from broken plates and building rubble. Drawings of endangered birds appear on the plate shards which were hand painted at a ceramic atelier in Tlaquepaque, Mexico. Since we learn about ancient civilizations from pottery shards, the artist hopes that viewers will take action before more bird species also become extinct. Broken was featured at Kruger’s exhibition titled Plumas in Mexico City in January 2022.
