Although Deborah’s work is often characterized by intense color, she periodically gravitates to a quieter white palette. Abandon is composed of mostly white plastic feathers with flecks of other colors for contrast. These feathers are silk-screened on recycled plastic bags and if you look closely, you will see images of endangered birds and endangered indigenous languages. Abandon was chosen for the XIX Rufino Tamayo Bienal, which showcases the top 50 painters working in Mexico.
