Since making feathers out of fiber and encaustic is a lengthy process, Deborah Kruger decided to experiment with digital scans on watercolor paper as a way of planning for larger pieces. Flock is her first effort and the feathers are attached to each other with waxed linen and wire thread that reintroduces fiber back into the piece.
